On top of this sits the blue-white cup, Angie’s own design that represents Dutch navigator Abel Tasman - the first European explorer to sight NZ and in 1642. In the late 18th century, British explorer James Cook became the first European to outline the coast of NZ - Cook is depicted by the yellow-pink cup, which may also be the cup he drank from on his voyages.
